While building my one year curriculum it was important to understand that each activity was correctly linked and developed in regards to the official Australian curriculum standards. each activity that I found must follow the foundation year band that is set across the physical education sector. On a whole forty activity were chosen and selected for year 4 (3/4) and a further activity's were found for year 10 (9/10). It was very important to understand that finding a random activity would not work for example an activity on puberty should not be issued to grade 3/4 as this is not relevant to their age group . selecting activity's specific to the age group was a difficult task as often there were activity on the topic but no specific age group recommendation on the webpage.
Linking the activity's to the Australian curriculum was difficult as I found their new updated web page hard to follow however remembering as long as I followed the topics for example "Grade three Being healthy, safe and active Examine how success, challenge and failure strengthen personal identities(ACPPS033) " is the key to keeping a relevant activity's to the headings and making sure I was correctly addressing the Australian curriculum. My web page addresses all areas of the physical recreation page by page and clearly lists the code in which the activity's link to the Australian curriculum for example; (ACPPS034) and is hyper linked to the Australian curriculum site. My one year curriculum is based around the key ideas and concepts as set out in "Australian curriculum" and can be used as academic evidence as to why I was able to come up with the overall structured of the curriculum web page. Other academic literature is for example is 'lesson planet .com' as this is an official site created for the use of teachers to share and use other lesson plans over all areas of the curriculum.
A case study by David Cluphf and E. William Vogler (2003) looked at collaborating lesson planning in psychical education and they found that Activity's must be specific to the age and year other wise it begins to risk student learning giving teachers something to think about. This related to my activities as i have designed my curriculum activities to be specific to the grade and age of students which according to David Cluphf and E. William Vogler (2003) case study enhances student learning. In conclusion my One year curriculum is relevant to any pre-service teacher and educator because it gives them core definitiveactivities that directly relate to the Australian curriculum and abides by educational standards.
